Fifth Column Pt. 2

Things are changing fast, it's all coming at once. If you're reading this it means you might have to piece together what happens later, I'm just putting that out there as a warning.
First off, the Subway sign has changed. Soup, it seems, is no longer back. Avocado is now back. If this means you have to backtrack through a few posts I can't help that, I don't have long.
You need to know that them trying to get through to me, changing the message from soup to avocado has also allowed me to fix a major problem. I haven't been sleeping well at night, the train wakes me up. It used to never do that, and now it wakes me up and so I lie there and think for forty minutes, it's maddening. It's not the train, it's this picture that hangs beside the bed, it's an old food poster, Pates Baroni, this clown dancing around with spaghetti. It made this clickity vibrating noise when the train went by and I would reach up with my foot and adjust it to make it stop. This happened in the dead of night and then the problem was fixed. When they changed the sign to read AV0CADO IS BACK it allowed me to fix this problem, it gave me the information I needed to take the sign down during the day. The spaghetti clown is in the attic now and I'm sleeping much better. I really don't think I would have thought to do that unless the Subway sign had been changed.
You're probably wanting to know more about The Source, too. I'm getting closer. There haven't been anymore notes. Damnit, damnit, I just realized, what if the message from Outside wasn't SOUP IS BACK, what if it was just a little distorted by the time and space it had to cross to get here and it was supposed to read SOAP IS BACK, or was the note supposed to read "Finally, Soup!" Damn. I'm trying to reach you and I don't even know if you're out there.
Also, strange non sequitur from the Note Writer: Do You Like Drop Dead Fred
Just how deeply can these people see into me?
The sign has changed.
I'm allowed to sleep better.
Some informal (formal?) nod from The Source's camp.
I'll have more soon. Just, please, stay with me.

  1. Could the Note Writer's notes also be distorted by space and time? What if they meant "Do you like Right Said Fred?"

  2. Actually, what I said was, "Where does Drop Dead Fred rank on your list of top 10 favorite films?" But it's okay, I already know it's #1 because I see everything!
